Visiting the Triberg Waterfalls: Tickets, Tips & Best Times

• The Triberg Waterfalls plunge around 163 metres over seven steps – among the highest waterfalls in Germany.
• Guests with the KONUS guest card enter for free – the card is included in your stay with us.
• From the market square in Triberg it is only about a 15-minute walk to the entrance.
• The falls are at their most impressive in spring during snowmelt and after heavy rain.
• Early morning or late afternoon is the quietest time to visit.

From the Schwarzwald-Oase you walk about 15 minutes through the town centre to the main entrance. The route is well signposted and passes cafés, small shops and the Black Forest Museum. If you prefer to drive, there are car parks at both entrances.

Back at the apartment, a coffee on the balcony is the perfect way to round off your excursion.

The waterfalls are open all year round, the paths are well maintained and easy to walk even with children. An entrance fee applies – as a guest of the Schwarzwald-Oase, simply show your KONUS guest card at the ticket desk and you get in for free.

Please note that prices and opening hours can vary by season. You will find current times and rates at the ticket desk or at the Triberg tourist information office on Hauptstraße 10, just a few minutes' walk from the apartment.

It is quietest early in the morning right after opening or in the late afternoon, once the day trippers have moved on. Rainy days are worth it too: the falls carry far more water and are at their most dramatic.

In summer the waterfalls are illuminated on selected evenings – ask the tourist information office for current dates.

• Allow about 1 to 1.5 hours for a relaxed loop.
• The lower and middle walkways offer the best photo spots.
• Combine your visit with the Black Forest Museum on the main street.
