Holiday apartment or hotel in Triberg?

Accommodation in Triberg is mostly hotels along the main street, small guesthouses and a handful of holiday apartments. An apartment pays off if you stay longer than two nights, travel with children or want to cook: your own kitchen, laundry, a balcony and no fixed breakfast times.

A hotel is simpler for a single night with breakfast. At the Schwarzwald-Oase you can book from one night as well, so that usual drawback of apartments does not apply.

What does a night in Triberg cost?

Prices vary a lot by season, with summer and public holidays clearly above off-season rates. With an apartment, always budget three items: the nightly rate, the one-off final cleaning (60 € with us) and the local visitor's tax.

The visitor's tax is 4 € per person per night from age 16 and 2 € for children from age 6. It is not charged at booking – you pay it on site by scanning a QR code and using a secure payment link. In return you receive the KONUS guest card for free bus and train travel across the Black Forest.

Which location makes sense in Triberg?

Triberg runs through a narrow valley and is noticeably steep from bottom to top. Staying in the centre saves you a lot of climbing: market square, restaurants, bakery, the Black Forest Museum and the entrance to the Triberg Waterfalls are all walkable.

The Schwarzwald-Oase is central: about a 15-minute walk to the waterfalls, usually free parking right outside the house, and self check-in from 3 pm via a key box.

How long should you stay?

One night is enough for the waterfalls and the town centre. If you also want the Black Forest Museum, a hike and a day trip (Vogtsbauernhof, Lake Titisee, Freiburg), plan two to three nights. From three nights on, the cleaning fee per night drops noticeably.

Book directly or through a platform?

  • Direct booking: no platform mark-up and direct contact for arrival and key box questions.
  • Flexible from one night – ideal for spontaneous short trips.
  • Non-binding enquiry possible: pick your dates, see the total price, decide afterwards.
  • Space for up to 6 guests in 2 bedrooms plus a sofa bed.
  • KONUS guest card included – free buses and trains across the Black Forest.
