Things to Do Around Triberg in the Black Forest

You don't have to travel far to experience the Black Forest: the Triberg Waterfalls are about a 15-minute walk from the apartment, and the Black Forest Museum on the main street shows the region's traditions – from historic cuckoo clocks and traditional costume to musical instruments. A great outing even in rainy weather.

For questions, hiking maps and current event tips, the tourist information office at Hauptstraße 10 is the place to go – within walking distance of the apartment.

As a guest of the Schwarzwald-Oase you receive the KONUS guest card free of charge. It gives you free travel on all buses and regional trains throughout the Black Forest – so you stay flexible even without a car. You can read how to get your card on our KONUS page.

All times are approximate and without traffic. By car you can reach:

• Vogtsbauernhof Gutach (approx. 20 minutes): the open-air museum shows original Black Forest farmhouses from 400 years of history.
• Dorotheenhütte Wolfach (approx. 30 minutes): a glassblowing workshop to watch and try yourself – a hit with children.
• Titisee-Neustadt (approx. 40 minutes): lake, promenade and boat trips with plenty for families.
• Feldberg (approx. 45 minutes): the highest mountain in the Black Forest with hiking trails – and ski lifts in winter.
• Freiburg (approx. 1 hour): the sunny university city with its minster, little streams and cosy lanes.
• Europa-Park Rust (approx. 1.25 hours): Germany's largest theme park – a full day out for the whole family.

It's best to set off early in the morning: you avoid traffic, enjoy more calm at the destinations and are back at the apartment relaxed by the evening. Feel free to ask us for personal recommendations before your arrival – we're happy to share our favourite places off the beaten track.
